Yesterday it was officially announced---Patrick Hazell and the Mother Blues Band    has been inducted into the IOWA ROCK 'N' ROLL MUSIC ASSOCIATION HALL OF FAME   The award ceremony will take place Labor Day weekend in Okaboji, Iowa. More details soon.

It is getting interesting how over the past four or five years my venues have been changing from the old club scene to some very interesting and unique situations. A quick overview at my schudule will show the reader what I mean. I am into exploring as many different musical pathways as my level of talent and knowledge of music will allow, and I am moving on. The scene has changed, there are new experiences to be had---I'm going for it. For the past couple of years, I have done an incredible amount of recording, both solo and with a number of other musicians--and, in spite of the dismal reality of today's CD sales market, I like to record. It's what I do. For the past couple of months I have been cataloging the hours of recordings I have made over the past year or so and this year hope to learn more about ways to make them available through the internet.

I have begun to download the 75+ hours of digital video tape I have taken during my last three tours to west central Russia. In addition to many scenes of Russian cities and country-side village life along with a wide variety of live music, this video footage includes my Russian Bell Project in Izhevsk in June 2004, and my participation in Mikhail Kalashnikov's 85th Birthday Jubilee in November 2004, and the tour I made in August 2006, performing in small villages along the old Siberian Highway through the Udmurt Republic of West-Central Russia with my Udmurtian Folk Musician friends, Nadezhda Utkina and Sergey Kungurov. I plan on having a DVD available for viewing and/or purchase at some point in the future. I will keep all those on my mailing list informed when I start to release some of the incredible material I have recorded and video-taped over the past three-four years.
