An excellent radio documentary called
"LET THE BELLS RING" about
the Seventh Hawkeye Valley Bell Project (September 25, 2005) was
produced by award-winning radio journalist, Rich Eggers, for WIUM-FM
(Western Illinois University). Along with the sounds of the bells,
this 7 minute production presents compositional elements of the
bell ringing and short interviews with Patrick Hazell and others
attending and participating in the concert. Three audio formats

In May, 2006, Let The Bells Ring
won the regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Use of
Sound in Small Market Radio . The region includes Illinois, Indiana,
Ohio, and Michigan. The Radio-Television News Directors Association
has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism
with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Let
The Bells Ring also won first place in the Iowa AP
contest for Technical Excellence.
